Typical of teen depression Depressed teenagers react to this state of mind by typically tending to feel hopeless, feel exhausted, sleep more, have many dreams, struggle with behavioral, emotional and academic problems, experience weight loss and or abuse drugs. This behaviour is typical in teen depression.
Teenage depression: Teens may seem difficult, irritable and short-tempered, rather than simply "down". We should also take note of the fact that depression in teenagers may come on suddenly or it may occur as a flaring up of longstanding problems. In this state of mind the teen can't help him/herself and needs to be helped to transform his/her troubled life, by teaching him/her the importance of the responsibility for taking control of his/her thoughts, his/her words and actions. Suicide is the third leading cause of death among teenagers It is most disturbing to notice that suicide is the third leading cause of death amongst teenagers in the United States. And what's more disturbing, is that there is a close link between teen depression and suicide. It is furthermore disturbing to become aware of the fact that 90% of teenager suicide victims were suffering from at least one diagnosable, active psychological disorder at the time of death. Most often this disorder is teen depression!
